Description:
Rosmarinus officinalis is a woody and aromatic herb live for 15-20 years. Rosemary has flowers of white, purple, or blue color and fragrant, leathery leaves, which look like pine needles.

Rosmarinus officinalis plant originated from Mediterranean countries and cultivated around the world. Rosemary belongs to the Lamiaceae family is an aromatic evergreen shrub, usually erect 2 to 3 meters tall. The leaves are 2 to 4 cm long and 2 to 5 mm broad, with dense, short, woolly hair.

Cultivation and Harvesting:
Rosemary is propagated by means of cuttings stems that are at least 5 to 8 inches. Place the cuttings in soil containing 40% soil, 30% sand, and 30% peat moss.

Rosemary is a drought-tolerant plant, the pH of the soil should be from 5.5 to7.5. Transplant the cuttings, during late spring to early summer and the soil should be well-drained. Rosemary needs at least 6 to 8 hours of daily sun exposure and prefers warm and moderately dry climates.

This plant leaves can be harvested at the flowering stage 30 to 35 cm in length with the flowering stage over the leaf stems should be harvested with sickles. Harvesting should be two or more times per year in order to promote new growth. The average duration of a crop is around 5-6 years, but under optimal conditions, it can last up to 10 years.

Rosemary oil is used for improving memory, indigestion (dyspepsia), arthritis-related joint pain, hair loss, and other conditions.

Application:
~ Rosemary essential oil is beneficial in arthritis, muscle cramping, rheumatism, respiratory problems, aching muscles, dandruff, dull skin, hair care, neuralgia, and poor circulation.
