Description:
Syringa vulgaris is native to temperate regions of Asia and Eastern Europe. Now a day’s Lilac plants are cultivated widely in other parts of the world including India and the United States.
Lilac essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the leaves and flowers.
It is light purple in color and has a refreshing floral aroma. Extraction of essential oil from the leaves and flower yield 0.8 to 3.5% oil.
Lilac essential oil is used for calming anxiety and uplifting mood.
