Description:
Grapefruit originated in China but cultivated in South Africa, the USA, Iran, Brazil, Israel, and other parts of the world.

Grapefruit oil is extracted from the fresh peel by cold compression and yields are 0.5 to 1 %.

The main chemical constituent of Grapefruit essential oil is limonene which ranges from 68–85%. Other major components of the essential oil of grapefruit are linalool, thujene, myrcene, terpinene, pinene, citronellol, caprinaldehyde, decyl acetate, and neryl acetate.

The major use of Grapefruit essential oil is in perfumery because of the presence of a higher amount of limonene which is uplifting in nature.
