Description:
The Boswellia tree is native to Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula. The earliest and best-known source of Frankincense is the country of Oman, Boswellia carterii, commonly known as Frankincense. Frankincense is also known in Arabic as “Luban” Most of the species originated in African countries but Boswellia serrata originated in India. Generally, most of the time this oil is coming from African countries.

Frankincense is a tree resin. Frankincense Essential Oil is distilled from the resin. yields of essential oil 5 to 9 %. The monoterpene content in all species of frankincense essential oil ranges from 70-85%. The essential oil smell sweeter than resin.

Woody, balsamic, and fruity

Pinene,a-Phellandrene,Limonene,Myrcene,Caryophyllene, p-Cymene,Terpinen-4-ol,Verbenone, Limonene, Sabinene and Linalool.

Application:
~ In Perfumery it is used as a base note.
~ Frankincense Carterii essential oil is used in the treatment of Anxiety, Asthma, Bronchitis, Extreme Coughing, Scars, Stress, and Stretch Marks.
~ It is also widely used in the manufacture of expectorant and also in respiratory and cough formulations.

Aromatherapy:
The aroma of Frankincense Essential Oil is spiritually calming and relaxing without being sedating. Pinene is strengthening and invigorating the respiratory system. The properties of Borneol is anesthetic, sedative, and anti-spasmodic. Farnesol acts as anti-aging, reducing the tendencies of formation of wrinkles and increasing the elasticity of the skin. Limonene exhibits antioxidant, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory, properties.
