Description:
Eucalyptus macarthurii, commonly known as Paddy’s river box or Camden woollybutt. Eucalyptus macarthurii is native to the warm temperate climate of southeastern Australia, but it is also cultivated in India, China, South Africa, Congo, Brazil, and other parts of the world. In India, it is cultivated in Palani hills at Kodaikanal and Nilgiri Hills in the Western Ghats region of Tamil Nadu.
This Essential oil is extracted from leaves and bark which contain 0.2 to 1% essential oil. The major components of the essential oil are Geranyl acetate, Geraniol, isovaleraldehyde, β-eudesmol, eudesmol and linalool.
Due to the higher concentration of geranyl acetate in its essential oil, it is used as a potential source for the perfumery industry.

Geranyl acetate, Geraniol, Limonene, 1,8-Cineol, Linalool, Globulol, Eudesmol and a-pinene.
Application:
~ The geraniol-rich essential oil of Eucalyptus macarthurii is used in perfumery for the preparation of rose accords, floral notes, and a wide variety of fragrances, due to its soft and sweet characteristics.
~ This oil is also used as a modifier in a wide variety of industrial fragrances.
