Description:
Eucalyptus globulus is native to southeastern Australia but cultivated across the globe. It is commonly known as southern blue gum. In India, it is cultivated in Palani hills at Kodaikanal in the Western Ghats region of Tamil Nadu for extraction of essential oil.

This Essential oil is extracted from leaves. Oil yield ranges from 1.0-2.4%. The major constituent of the essential oil is 1,8-Cineole. The other major constituents are α-pinene, limonene, terpinyl acetate, α-terpineol and alloaromadendrene.

From the pharmaceutical point of view, Eucalyptus globules oil is very useful, it is virtually phellandrene free which is a requirement for internal pharmaceuticals.

Odor profile:
Fresh, medicinal, woody and earthy

Major Constituents:
1,8-Cineole,a-Pinene, γ-terpinene,(+)-Limonene, alloaromadendrene , terpinyl acetate and α-terpineol.
