Description:
Eucalyptus dives is commonly known as the broad-leaved peppermint or blue peppermint, or Eucalyptus Peppermint. Eucalyptus Dives commonly occur in South East Australia. In India, it is cultivated in Nilgiri hills in the Western Ghats region of Tamil Nadu.

It is also known as Eucalyptus piperitone because oil contains higher pepritone content. Pepritone is a ketone known to have strong anti-asthmatic and herbicidal properties.

The essential oil is produced from the steam distillation of the leaves and twigs contain 1.0% up to 2.5% Essential Oil. Some forms of Eucalyptus dives contain a higher amount of phellandrene and another form of Eucalyptus dives contain a higher amount of piperitone. Eucalyptus dives don’t contain large amounts of 1,8 cineole (Eucalyptol). Being low in Eucalyptol, this variety is excellent for skin and topical applications and has also been used to treat colds, flu, and cough. An excellent inhalation oil to support the respiratory system.

Odor profile:
Herbaceous, woody, minty, fresh

Major Constituents:
Piperitone, alpha-Phellandrene, Paracymene, Terpinene-4-ol.

Application:
~ A suitable oil against infections of the lower respiratory tract. The oil has been used successfully with respiratory infections, especially those affecting the lower respiratory tract such as bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma.
~ The oil is centering, calming, and activating the bronchioles to dilate.
~ In FMCG industries it is also used in perfuming soaps, creams, gels, and body lotions.

Aromatherapy:
This oil is used as antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic. In aromatherapy, it is used to cure Bronchitis, Decongestant, and Headache, mucolytic actions for reducing thick mucus and deep congestion, revitalize and restore your mind by inhalation, rubbing, and diffuser.
