Description:
The clove tree is native to Indonesia, which is found growing in plenty in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Zanzibar, Singapore, Mauritius, Pakistan, Tanzania, and India. Clove bud oil and Clove leaf oil both are extracted from the same plant i.e. Syzygium aromaticum, but the difference is that both oils are extracted from two different parts of the same plant. The Clove bud oil is extracted from bud and Clove leaf oil from the leaf of the plant. Major constituents of Clove leaf oil and Clove bud oil indicating a clear difference in the two oils:

Application:
~ Cloves leaf oil is a strong germicide, a powerful antiseptic because of its higher eugenol content.
~ Clove Leaf oil is mainly used for its antiseptic properties.
~ It is considered to be a good pain reliever for toothache, stomach ache, muscle, and joint ache.
~ It also helps to boost immunity.
~ Clove leaf oil is used for manufacturing toothpaste, Mouth wash, Soap, Toiletries, cosmetics, and sanitizers.
~ Clove Leaf oil can be used to treat wounds, fungal infections, and insect bites.
~ It is also helpful for cough and cold.

Aromatherapy:
Only the clove bud oil is used in aromatherapy since it contains less eugenol. Clove Leaf Essential Oil which contains more eugenol is not commonly used in aromatherapy, however, Clove Leaf oil helps to reduce fatigue, mental exhaustion, anxiety, and stress.
