Description:
Rosewood tree is the native of Brazil and Peru. Rosewood Essential Oil is sometimes referred to as Bois de Rose Essential Oil. The Aniba rosaeodora is an evergreen tree.

The oil is extracted from the wood of Aniba rosaeodora. The wood is chipped and steam distilled. This tree grows to 30 to 40 meters high, their growth rate relatively fast about 3 to 4 feet per year.

Aniba rosaeodora grows in the tropical rainforests of South America, the Brazilian states, Peru, Suriname, Ecuador, Venezuela, French Guiana, Guyana, and Colombia. The entire tree is fragrant. The wood chippings of the tree are used to obtain the rosewood essential oil by steam distillation. The yield of essential oil ranged between 0.5% and 1.0% by weight of wood.
