Description:
Bulnesia Sarmiento is a tree native to America and widely available in Paraguay and Argentina.
The oil is extracted from wood and sawdust. Guaiac wood oil is composed of 45 to 70% Guaiol. Two main constituents of the oil are Guaiol and Bulnesol. These two constituents of the oil are responsible for its aroma.
This oil is a thick paste that becomes semi-solid during winter (low temperature). The oil is considered non-irritating, non-sensitizing, and non-photo toxic to the human skin.
Odor profile:
smoky, roselike aroma
Major Constituents:
Guaiol, bulnesol, alpha-bulnesene, beta-bulnesene, α-guaiene, β-patchoulene, and guaioxide.
Application:
~ Guaiac wood essential oil is a good fixative, especially for woody and floral fragrances. Nature identical fragrances of Sandalwood and Rose can be prepared with this oil.
~ Industrial fragrances for cosmetics, soaps, and spa products can be prepared.
Aromatherapy:
The oil is having analgesic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties, when used in aromatherapy it reduces inflammation, relieves joint, muscle pain, decongestant, rheumatism, arthritis, stress, anxiety and prevent skin aging and keep skin looking youthful.
