Description:
Gingergrass is native to India and commonly cultivated in many countries including Nepal for its aromatic oil. It is closely related to palmarosa and called Indian geranium.
The oil is extracted from leaves of ginger grass and the essential oil yield is 2 – 4 %.
Its main component is Geraniol which is valued for its aroma.
The oil is used for its antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic properties in traditional medicinal and household products.
Odor profile:
Peppery, grassy, and lemony aroma
Major Constituents:
Geraniol, geranyl acetate, farnesol, myrcene, nerolidol, caryophyllene, humulene, linalool, geranial, limonene, terpinene.
Application:
