Description:
Garlic is a native of temperate western Asia and has been cultivated and used throughout the world as a food spice and medicine.
Essential oil is extracted from garlic bulbs (rhizome). Garlic oil contains a volatile sulphur bearing compound which yields 1 to 2% essential oil.
It has many medicinal effects such as lowering blood cholesterol levels, anti-inflammatory activity, and inhibition of cholesterol synthesis.
